About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 30 years ago, TED has grown to support its mission with multiple initiatives. The two annual TED Conferences invite the world’s leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes or less. Many of these talks are then made available, free, at TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Sal Khan and Daniel Kahneman.
The annual TED Conference takes place each spring in Vancouver, British Columbia. TED’s media initiatives include TED.com, where new TED Talks are posted daily; TED Translators, which provides subtitles and interactive transcripts as well as translations from volunteers worldwide; the educational initiative TED-Ed. TED has established The Audacious Project that takes a collaborative approach to funding ideas with the potential to create change at thrilling scale; TEDx, which supports individuals or groups in hosting local, self- organized TED-style events around the world, and the TED Fellows program, helping world-changing innovators from around the globe to amplify the impact of their remarkable projects and activities.
Born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, Tina Huynh is an entrepreneur at heart. At 23 years old she owned and operated a local restaurant, and now she is manager of her family business, Windsor Wholesale Bait, a company that distributes live Canadian Nightcrawlers all over Canada and the USA. She is also a part-time real estate sales associate working at LC Platinum Realty Inc Brokerage. TEDxWindsor 2018 was an astounding success, and it all started as an idea that Tina had one gloomy afternoon.
Fun Fact: Tina doesn’t actually like to fish, despite her family business!

Tracy Pistagnesi was born in raised in Windsor, but has also lived internationally in Germany and China for eight years. She is currently studying International Business at the University of Windsor. Tracy loves to support local entrepreneurs and businesses, and is currently working on building her own: Little Bees+ Wellness. Her passion for living healthily, living green, and living exceptionally are represented in her business.
Fun Fact: Tracy is fluent in Mandarin!

Megz Kubis is studying Strategy and Entrepreneurship at the University of Windsor. She acts as an ambassador and consultant in the EPICentre at the University of Windsor, helping budding Windsor-Essex companies grow. Megz has also been involved with the Windsor Essex Small Business Centre. Megz has a keen eye for entrepreneurship and loves applying the business tactics she’s learned through her exceptional experiences in life and study.
Fun Fact: Megz is a Master Goldsmith!

Jacques Berge is a personal and business coach born in Essex county. He works with individuals to gain clarity on their goals and provides them with the support to achieve them. He is a community builder, having held several events for entrepreneurs in the city. He is passionate about connecting people.
Fun Fact: Jacques runs masterminds all over South Western Ontario!

Stephanie is a writer, editor and creative consultant who is dedicated to helping transformational leaders get their books started, finished and published. She has a background in education and psychology, and writes a regular column for Windsor Parent Magazine. She has also been published in Parents Canada and on The Huffington Post. Stephanie is a voracious reader, an endless talker and a lover of the stories that are born out of people’s real lives. She believes that it is through the sharing of our stories, we can change the world.
Fun Fact: Stephanie is writing her first book!
Heather Chauvin has been named the next generation’s thought leader in parenting and women’s leadership. Her mission is to crack women open to their deep potential and help them create the life their soul craves.
Heather is the creator of the New & Noteworthy Podcast, the Mom Is In Control Podcast, and has been featured on the OWN network, Huffington Post, TV outlets and others. With wit and wisdom, Heather inspires a global community of women to take back control of their lives and evolve how they lead, work, play, and parent.
